Westcoast Legal Service (2014-Present)
IT Consultant: 2018-Present
- Developed software to assist with employee time tracking, modifying PDFs, and file conversion and combining
- Pioneered the transition to cloud services from in-house servers, decided on what platforms would be used, and handled migration to those platforms
- Built an application that saved employees ~2 hours/day by automatically scanning for PDFs on a network drive and OCRing them
- Analyzed business requirements and communicated them to software vendors

- Built a custom controller with Electron that used a gamepad to remotely control a Pan-Tilt-Zoom camera
- Used Pan-Tilt-Zoom camera documentation to craft an open source Node.js library that functions as the camera's interface and achieved a latency that was 4X faster than Panasonic’s official $5,000 camera controller

- Rolled out infrastructure critical for safe and secure remote work by deploying OpenVPN to an in house server.
- Enhanced communication between teams of individuals by orchestrating the transition to Microsoft 365 For Business
- Segmented network activity to seperate guest internet access from the organization's network devices by creating subnets and crafting firewall rules

- Improved the company's cyber security using the guidelines set out by The HIPAA Security Rule by conducting an in depth analysis of infrastructure, security, and software used
- Updated and modified legacy code so it was compatible with modern 64-bit operating systems. Created and deployed virtual machines for legacy applications where the source code was unavailable
- Reduced spending on anual domain name rewnewals, website hosting, and Microsoft Exchange services by 930% by switching the companies to Google Domains, using Firebase's Static Web Hosting, and Microsoft 365's Exchange Service
